County Transfer Stations

Santa Barbara County operates three transfer facilities (New Cuyama, Santa Ynez Valley and South Coast) and one drop-box (Ventucopa). These facilities accept waste from the nearby communities and transfer it for recycling and disposal. Learn more about these facilities.

ReSource Center

Santa Barbara County’s Public Works Department has built a brand-new waste management facility known as the ReSource Center at the Tajiguas Landfill. The ReSource Center will help communities on the South Coast and Santa Ynez Valley achieve several statewide environmental policies around diverting waste from landfills, increasing recycling rates, reducing GHG emissions, and reducing organic waste disposal.  Learn more about this facility.

UCSB Hazardous Waste Facility

The Community Hazardous Waste Collection Center is managed by the County of Santa Barbara and is located on the UCSB campus at Mesa Road, Building 565 in Goleta, California.  Residents from Goleta, Santa Barbara (City and County) and Solvang are eligible to bring their household hazardous wastes to this facility for proper disposal.  In addition, for businesses that qualify, this facility offers a CESQG/VSQ program.   Learn more about this facility.
